The trust of our diverse, worldwide community of supporters is vitally important to WRI. We ensure sound compliance through sophisticated systems with stringent financial controls. We also maintain our credibility and effectiveness through professional audit reviews of our income and expenditures. 100% of our expenses support programs: 86% are incurred within the programs and 14% are applied to essential infrastructure and fund-raising efforts that strengthen our programs. We actively plan, monitor, measure and document our successes, aiming for transparency with donors. Embedded in our culture is the emphasis on and recognition of outcomes, defined as the positive change and impact we seek to create in the external world. We therefore report on progress toward outcomes on an annual basis, examples of which can be found in our [success stories](http://www.wri.org/about/success-stories-2012).
