Reefs at Risk in Australia

Reefs at Risk in AustraliaView Large Size

The coral reefs of Australia are the least affected by local threats (i.e., coastal development, overfishing/destructive fishing, marine-based pollution, and/or watershed-based pollution) of any region in the world. About 15 percent are threatened by local stressors, with only about 1 percent at high or very high threat.
