| Abstract: The Community Based Poverty Reduction Project for Nigeria aims to improve access of the poor to social and economic infrastructure and increase the availability and management of development resources at the community level. There are two project components. The first strengthens federal, state, and local government capacity for poverty reduction policy design and dissemination and makes resources available to help the National Planning Commission (NPC) contract out advocacy for the community-driven development approach in all states. The second component funds community-based initiatives, like information, education, and communication campaigns community identification of needs and priorities and soliciting, appraising, approving, financing, supervising, evaluating, monitoring, and evaluation of micro-projects. |
