Bloomberg President, Zipcar Founder Named Directors at World Resources Institute

The World Resources Institute (WRI) has elected Robin Chase, an entrepreneur in cost-effective transportation and founder of GoLoco and Zipcar, and Daniel Doctoroff, an urban economic developer and president of Bloomberg, L.P., to its board of directors. 

Robin ChaseRobin Chase is founder and CEO of GoLoco, an online ridesharing community. GoLoco helps people quickly arrange to share car trips between trusted friends, neighbors, and colleagues, and handles online payments from passengers to drivers for their share of the trip costs. She also founded and leads Meadow Networks, a consulting firm that advises government agencies about wireless applications in the transportation sector. Chase is also founder and former CEO of Zipcar, the largest carsharing company in the world.

“Robin’s wealth of experience as a social entrepreneur, technology innovator, and transportation policy expert brings an important new dimension to WRI’s board,” said Nancy Kete, director of EMBARQ - The WRI Center for Sustainable Transport.

Daniel DoctoroffDaniel L. Doctoroff became president of Bloomberg, L.P., the leading global provider of financial data, analytics and news in January 2008.

Prior to joining Bloomberg L.P., Doctoroff was deputy mayor for Economic Development and Rebuilding for the City of New York. Under the leadership of Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Doctoroff led the city’s dramatic economic resurgence after 9/11 with a comprehensive five-borough economic development strategy. He also led the creation of PlaNYC, the most extensive effort to strengthen an urban environment ever undertaken by an American city.
