MEDIA ADVISORY: Capitol Hill Briefing: Business and Public Interest: Perspectives on EPA Greenhouse Gas Regulations

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The World Resources Institute will host a public briefing on Capitol Hill to discuss the potential impacts of the Federal government’s implementation of its Clean Air Act authority to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Speakers include: Congressman Jay Inslee (D-WA); Paul Allen of Constellation Energy; Dan Greenbaum of Health Effects Institute; Franz Litz of the World Resources Institute; and Dick Munson of Recycled Energy Development.

Leading experts will discuss past and pending actions by the EPA, and what they mean for the economy, public health, and the competitiveness of U.S. industries. According to experts, the Clean Air Act’s updated standards for greenhouse gases can help drive increases in energy efficiency and innovation. These standards can provide new opportunities and greater regulatory certainty for businesses, while protecting public health and the environment.
