About Aaron

Aaron Holdway is Research Associate to the President and WRI’s Board Liaison. Aaron works with the President of WRI on a range of issues, including preparing speeches and written communications which highlight the work of the Institute. He also serves as the principal day-to-day liaison with WRI’s Board of Directors.

Prior to joining WRI, Aaron worked in Oxford, UK, as a consultant on corporate climate strategy and as a communications officer and sustainable mobility researcher at Oxford University’s Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment. Before moving to the UK, Aaron worked for five years as a social policy researcher in the School of Policy Studies at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, and served as President of the World Student Community for Sustainable Development.

Aaron holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Queen’s University and a master’s degree in Environmental Policy from Oxford University, with a dissertation focusing on the capacity to adapt to climate change in the Maldives.

Originally from Nova Scotia, Canada, Aaron enjoys travelling and has been involved in initiatives in development and the environment in Botswana, Nepal, Malaysia, Cuba, Canada, and Antarctica.
