About Ariana
Ariana is a researcher for Project POTICO at WRI’s People & Ecosystems Program and the Governance of Forests Initiative within the Institution and Governance Program. Her work focuses on land use in tropical forested countries, including forest governance, sustainable agriculture, and commodities (notably palm oil). Ariana also researches Indonesian low carbon plans and the intersection between sustainable development and economic growth. She coordinates all Indonesia-related work across the Institute.

Prior to WRI, Ariana was a research assistant at the Institute for Social and Economic Research at the University of Indonesia in Jakarta, focusing on energy policy and regional energy security within Southeast Asia. Previously she worked at Planete Urgence in Paris, a non-profit aiming to involve ordinary citizens in international development. As an undergraduate, she was part of the Indonesian delegation to the UNFCCC COP 16 in Cancun, Mexico.
Ariana graduated from Boston University with a B.A. in Economics and Environmental Policy. She is a native speaker of English and Indonesian, and is also fluent in French.
