Previously, Daryl directed the Chemicals Program at the Center for International Environmental Law and forged broad-based coalitions committed to eliminating health threats from toxic chemicals. He championed stronger policies and more sustainable business practices in the United States and Europe, and worked within NGO networks to create effective multilateral instruments, including the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants and the European Union’s REACH regulation.
At the Environmental Law Institute, Daryl launched the India Program and worked with public interest advocates, regulators, and the judiciary in India in pursuit of an industrial “clean revolution.” During an earlier stint at WRI, he worked on technology transfer, corporate environmental accounting, performance metrics, and the sustainability of the U.S forest sector.
Daryl holds a Ph.D. in Engineering and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin. He and his wife Nimmi are proud residents of Washington, DC.
