Before coming to WRI, Emily interned at the Environmental Law Institute, providing research and editorial support for a publication on strengthening post-conflict peacebuilding through natural resource management and coordinating a national wetlands awards program. In college, she wrote an honors thesis on building institutional capacity to address vulnerability to climate change in sub-Saharan Africa. Her interests evolved during a semester in Geneva, where she studied the role of international institutions in dealing with climate and environmental injustice, and during an internship with HELIO-International in Paris, where she researched energy system resilience in African least-developed countries.

Emily holds a BA in Environmental Studies and French from Connecticut College in New London, CT.

She hails from the Boston area and enjoys traveling, cooking, and swing dancing.
