About Florence

Florence Daviet is the manager of the International Forests and Climate Policy project and co-manager of the Governance of Forests Initiative project in the Institutions and Governance Program, both focused on ensuring that climate change policies and mechanisms developed as part of an international climate agreement and in domestic US legislation lead to real emission reductions, healthy forest ecosystems, and sustainable development.

Ms. Daviet has been at WRI since 2002, when she joined the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Initiative team. Ms. Daviet’s work included developing accounting guidelines for afforestation and forest management offset projects. She also provided technical support to developed and developing GHG programs and registry initiatives on accounting and reporting issues for corporate and project-level accounting, and facilitating the linkages among GHG programs and registries. In addition, Ms Daviet was responsible for the development, review, maintenance, and customization of the GHG Protocol calculation tools.

She holds Masters in International Environmental Policy from the John Hopkins’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), Washington D.C., and a Bachelors in English Literature from Mount Holyoke College, South Hadley, MA.
