About Heshuang

Heshuang is a research analyst in EMBARQ’s Research & Practice group. She works on innovative transport solutions including carsharing and Bus Rapid Transit. She also supports EMBARQ’s strategic development on transport and urban planning in China. Heshuang is an active blogger for TheCityFix, the official blog for EMBARQ.

Heshuang has wide exposure to energy policies and technologies and urban planning and design through her work in the U.S., China and India. Prior to EMBARQ, she was a key researcher at “Making the Clean Energy Cities” project at MIT with a focus on urban design codes and integration with renewable energy technologies at the neighborhood level. Before MIT, she was trained in urban studies at Tsinghua University, where she analyzed the consumption of urban space and its socio-economic impact on the reshaping of Beijing’s historical districts.

Heshuang holds a master’s degree in city planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She also received a bachelor of architecture and a master of urban design and planning from Tsinghua University.
