ChinaFAQs’ mission is to provide credible data, research, and direct interaction with the experts network to increase the understanding of China’s climate and energy policies and the implications of such policies and actions among Members of the U.S. Congress, officials at federal agencies, and opinion leaders.

Prior to arriving at WRI, Jonathan worked at Princeton University as a Research Associate in the Department of Geosciences. His research, which grew out of his senior thesis, focused on refining the models used to predict the response of methane emissions from arctic permafrost to climate change. Jonathan presented this work at the 2012 American Geophysical Union Fall meeting, and his findings are being prepared for further publication.

Jonathan holds an AB from the Department of Geosciences and from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University, with minors in Environmental Studies and Chinese Language and Culture. During his summers, Jonathan worked at NOAA’s Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory and studied Mandarin at Beijing Normal University.

Jonathan was a four year member of the Princeton Varsity Fencing Team. Along with fencing, Jonathan enjoys traveling to new places, the outdoors, and watching movies.
