About Joseph

Prior to joining WRI, Joe was at the Society for Science & the Public where he worked on the organization’s development and STEM education advocacy initiatives. He also worked at the National Association of Regional Councils, a membership organization of US COGs and MPOs, where he supported the organization’s environment and economic development programs. Before that, he interned for the U.S. Department of State in Calgary, Canada where he supported consular staff in their work involving the geopolitical energy and environment issues of the region.

Joe hold a BA in History with a minor in English from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. He is currently finishing up his Masters of Public Policy at George Mason University where he is focusing on Climate & Energy Policy. He has a keen personal interest in the challenges climate change poses for societies, governments and institutions.

In his free time Joe likes to spend as much time as he can in and around the waters of his native coastal North Carolina - kayaking, sailing and surfing. He frequently spends time at DC’s weekend farmers markets and festivals, heads to the Appalachians for hiking and camping trips and generally loves traveling. He also looks forward to ticking the World Cup off my bucket list next summer in Brazil.
