About Katerina

Katerina is the Research Assistant at WRI Brazil, supporting WRI Brazil’s country director to launch the Brazilian office and programmes. She is a graduate of Imperial College London, where she completed her Masters in Environmental Technology in 2012, graduating with distinction. She focused her thesis on the Brazilian opportunity to transition to a closed-loop economy, providing innovative research in uncharted territory.

She has experience working with both grassroots as well as multinational organisations; during her Masters Katerina launched and ran the Tata Social Enterprise Conference, and since 2012 has helped launch an urban agriculture start-up in London. After graduating from Imperial College London, Katerina worked for the UK Green Building Council before relocating to Brazil. She has previous experience working for a communications technology company in Geneva, and for Ashoka in Paris.
Katerina is a keen basketball player, pianist, cyclist and rock climber. She recently completed an over-night 120 mile cycle ride in the UK, raising money for her local homeless shelter.
