About Lijin
Dr. Zhong Lijin is the Senior Associate and China Water Lead of World Resources Institute (WRI) China Office. She is heading the water team in China Office to carry out the water-energy nexus and water quality management projects in China.
Prior to joining WRI, Dr.Zhong served as Post-doc in Tsinghua University, as well as Deputy Director of the Water Policy Research Center of the Tsinghua University School of Environment. She has over 10 years’ working experiences in the fields of environmental engineering, environmental planning and management, environmental impact assessment and environmental policy. She has been focused on water sectors and familiar with China’s water policies and institutional system since she started her PhD study in 2003. She has undertaken many environmental policy consulting services for various ministries of China (such as the Ministry of Construction, the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the National Development and Reform Commission and etc.) and the international organizations (such as the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank).
Lijin has a cross-disciplinary education background with B.S. and M.S. of environmental engineering at Tsinghua University and Ph.D. of environmental policy at Wageningen University (the Netherlands).
