About Monica

Monica Weeks is the Project Coordinator II for the International Financial Flows and the Environment (IFFE) objective in the Institutions and Governance Program (IGP). She provides support to project staff and manages communications, outreach for the initiative, grants, contracts, and finances.

Prior to joining WRI, Monica worked in programming and administration at Council of the Americas, an international business and trade organization, in their DC office.

Monica holds an MA in Latin American and Caribbean Studies, focusing on International Relations and Women’s Studies from Florida International University’s Latin American and Caribbean Center (LACC). Her research background is in Latin American social movements and the effectiveness of NGOs in a society. She received the Tinker Field Research Grant to travel to Nicaragua last November for her thesis and looks forward to learning more about strengthening institutions and sustainability.

Monica lives in DC with her partner Ross and enjoys biking, photography, and organizing.
