About Rich

Rich is an Associate I in WRI’s People and Ecosystems Program. He is leading the research effort on sustainable aquaculture for the 2013-14 World Resources Report: Creating a Sustainable Food Future. He also provides research, fundraising, and outreach support to WRI’s coastal projects—including Reefs at Risk (map-based analyses of threats to coral reefs) and Coastal Capital (economic valuation of coastal ecosystems).

Prior to joining WRI, Rich lived in Cameroon for four years, where he served as an agroforestry extension agent with the U.S. Peace Corps and then as Assistant Coordinator for the U.S. Embassy’s international development programs.

Rich holds an M.A. in International Development Studies, with concentrations in Environment and Food Security, from The George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs, and a B.A. from Hamilton College.
