About Robin
Robin Murphy is Vice President for External Relations at the World Resources Institute. He is responsible for communicating WRI’s research, analysis and policy recommendations to its worldwide audiences.He is integrating communications practices throughout WRI to more directly connect the work of its experts to desired objectives and outcomes.

He has 30 years of professional experience in communications, marketing, grant-making and program development in the private, public and non-profit sectors.
He headed his own communications company, providing counsel to top American foundations and non-profit organizations. He has advised dozens of major corporations, trade associations, foundations and non-profits on communications, marketing, fund-raising, and strategic direction.
He was vice president of communications, marketing and education for Conservation International for five years, directing worldwide outreach in over 40 countries. He championed CI’s extraordinary expansion and fundraising efforts, and was a key figure in repositioning the organization’s brand and identity.
For over a decade as a senior vice president with Porter Novelli, he was director of its health care practice, and led its international and non-profit portfolios, including a major communications and public affairs campaign for the Council on Foundations. Early in his career he was a grantmaker and program director for the National Endowment for the Arts, and on the staff of the Federal Council on the Arts and Humanities at the White House.
He is a graduate of Kenyon College, and grew up in Asia and Europe.
