About Sorina
Sorina is the Project Coordinator for the Electricity Governance Initiative (EGI) in WRI’s Institutions and Governance Program. She manages the project’s grants, contracts, finances, communications and outreach.

Prior to joining WRI, Sorina was an intern at the United Nations Environment Programme, where she worked on ecosystems management projects including work on costal and marine ecosystems, freshwater, biodiversity and migratory species. She also interned at the Environmental and Energy Study Institute where she worked on climate change and energy efficiency.
Sorina holds a BA in Environmental Studies with a focus in philosophy from Hamilton College in Clinton, New York. She merged her interests in philosophy and environment in her senior thesis titled, Can Spinoza Help Us? Cultivating a New Ecological Consciousness through Spinoza’s Philosophy and Deep Ecology. She spent six months in Tanzania studying political ecology and wildlife conservation.
She has lived in Switzerland, England, Italy, the Czech Republic, France and New York and enjoys traveling, skiing and writing.
