Umang is an Associate – Urban Transport at EMBARQ India. He coordinates technical support for bus operations and non-motorized transport projects. He is based in New Delhi and works closely with the Jaipur City Transport Services Limited (JCTSL) and Star Bus to help improve the quality of public bus services in these cities. He also leads FedEx’s Vehicles and Fuels program in India. Umang made significant contributions to improving the bus systems in the city of Jaipur which was recognized as “WRI’s Top Institutional Excellence Outcome for 2011”. Umang has over 4 years experience in the field of urban transport.

Umang previously worked in project development, technical evaluation and bid process management of mass transit projects, urban transport projects He was involved in consultancy projects in the field of public transport, chief among these include preparing a bus operations plan for the city of Bathinda, Punjab. . He was also involved in transportation consultancy, preparing technical cum financial feasibility for a number or rural road projects under the prestigious National Highway Development Program.

Umang holds a masters degree in Planning with specialization in Transport from School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi. He also holds a masters degree in Economics.
