Wilfred N. Yartey is the Assistant Controller of the World Resources Institute. He is responsible for investment and portfolio analysis, preparation of financial statement and budgeting reports, developing internal systems of reports, assessing accounting policy, internal controls, and their implementation.

Wilfred has over 9 years public accounting experience in US GAAP and IFRS. Prior to joining WRI in 2013, Wilfred was a DCAA Auditor with the US Department of Defense. Wilfred has worked in Ghana, United Kingdom and US occupying various positions in Accounting and Auditing.

Wilfred holds a Chartered Accountant certification (ACCA) from the United Kingdom. He is an inactive member of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountant (United Kingdom) and the Greater Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants. Wilfred is also a CPA and licensed under the State of Colorado. Wilfred holds a B.S. in Business Administration from University of Baltimore and has been accepted for an MBA program with Mount Saint Mary’s University, Emmitsburg – Maryland.

Wilfred lives in Germantown, Maryland with his wife Klorkor and kids Darryl and Maya.
