Abstract:
Land cover classification produced at Boston University Land Cover Faculty based on MODIS data from 2000-2001. (250m data were used to produce 1km resolution classification). The MODerate resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) Land Cover Science Data Product (MOD12Q1) provides a suite of Land Cover classifications with the primary classification in the International Geosphere-Biosphere Programme (IGBP) scheme.
Purpose:
This datset provides a 1-km classification of land cover. This dataset was extracted for the purposes of the Reefs at Risk in the Caribbean project (World Resources Institute, 2004 - <http://reefsatrisk.wri.org>) analysis of sedimetation from land-based sources.
