Welcome to the EarthTrends text site. This site contains information from the World Resources Institute's EarthTrends website (http://earthtrends.wri.org).
EarthTrends information is organized into 10 topic areas. These topic areas (accessible from the toolbar above) group all of our maps, data, country profiles, and feature stories so that you can find what you are looking for more quickly. EarthTrends information is available in five formats:

Variables
A compilation of over 500 variables from 30 data sources. Country and region-level
data are presented in tabular format, with countries as rows and
years as columns. |
Maps
Explore the Maps section for a a visual representation of data. |
Data Tables
Data Tables show
a subset of data which present a more complete
picture of a certain topic. Data Tables contain 12-16 variables
for about 160 countries. They are useful for inter-country comparisons. |
Feature Stories
Feature
stories are short (2-6 page) articles on environmental, social,
or economic topics. |
Country Profiles
A
vast collection of country profiles show a snapshot of data for
most countries in the world. We have over 200 country profiles
available in each of 10 topic areas. |
