Welcome to the new EarthTrends home page!

The EarthTrends team at the World Resources Institute has redesigned this home page as part of our continued efforts to enhance accessibility to our site's content and disseminate important environmental information. We encourage both first-time and returning users to take a few moments to orient themselves with our new homepage and learn more by clicking below.

All of the content previously found on EarthTrends (searchable database, maps, country profiles, features, data tables, and special collections) can still be accessed directly through the research topic headings in the left column or by performing a general search using the box in the upper-right corner of this page.

In addition, we are excited about the launch of several new components of our site that allow us to provide timely and enhanced content. The majority of this content (described in detail below) will be posted in the center column of the homepage, with the most recent posting appearing at the top of the page. Archived posts can be found through the appropriate links in the right column of the homepage.

New content includes:

FAQ—A list of frequently asked questions about EarthTrends is now available through the "Quick Links" in the right column.
Ask EarthTrends—The EarthTrends team will post answers to commonly asked questions from users regarding environmental or sustainability issues and data resources.
News & Recent Updates—Important environmental news pertaining to the mission of WRI and EarthTrends will be posted here; we will also post specific EarthTrends content revisions (such as dataset updates).
Did You Know?—Provides a short, quantitative, environmentally-relevant fact with a linked source in the right column every time the EarthTrends homepage is refreshed.

In addition, all monthly updates will be posted and archived on the home page as they are released.
