The World Resources Institute is currently accepting applications for a web development summer intern. We are looking for a highly motivated and innovative person to play a significant role in the continuing technical development and management of EarthTrends and NutrientNet. The closing date for this position is 1 April 2006.
EarthTrends is a free on-line database created by WRI that highlights the environmental, social, and economic trends that shape our world. The successful applicant will initiate, design and implement improvements to the functionality and user interface of the EarthTrends website while maintaining the site's functional integrity.
NutrientNet is an on-line estimation and trading tool for nutrients that contribute to water quality problems, including Nitrogen and Phosphorus. The successful applicant will help to develop NutrientNet for new watersheds and create an application framework that can easily be deployed in different locations, each with unique requirements.
